National Professional Social Work Month
March 1-31, 2017
For the entire month of March, National Professional Social Work Month is observed.
Social workers are trained to look at situations in a holistic way. They help people increase their ability to solve problems, to cope with stressors and to get needed resources. Social workers bring individuals together with other poeple and their communities to find solutions for problems that continue to plague our society, inclduing hunger, lack of affordable housing, and equal rights for all.
Social workers make organizations responible to people through sound social policy. To show appreciation to our Social Worker, Alice Hicks, staff celebrated with a "Denim & Pearls" day, "Bright in Khaki's" day, "Business/Casual" day, "Glam in Green" day, "Pretty in Pastels" day, and went out with a bang on March 31st with a "Kickback Luau Party".

Community Outing MS Science Museum
March 23, 2017
Spring has come and residents were excited to explore, understand, and apprecaite Mississippi's biological diversity through education and exhibits of Mississippi's Science Museum. Residents shared their time between the outdoor environment with a lunch picnic outdoors and indoor exhibits moving from informative indoor models and their reality in a natural Mississippi setting.
The weather was nice and residents enjoyed their favorite picnic foods. When touring the inside, residents were educated on the history of Mississippi's living things in their natural landscape. It was truly a fun and educational time for residents.
